Several sythetic-fill asleep bags now come in close proximity to down in their warmth-to-weight ratio. At least one summer bag, using Polarguard pack, weighs an even 04 ounces. That's amazingly light to get a synthetic bag.
Using Ultralight Sleeping Bags
Ultralight slumbering bags generally aren't tough. The lighter the container, the more fragile, nevertheless treat them gently, and work fine. I've used mine for quite some time, in snow and weather, from Ecuador to Florida to Michigan, and it shows little wear. Baby these items, and they can be very durable.

Sleeping BagsA good down sleeping bag can be quite expensive - you most definitely want to be sure that you care for it properly. To attend to it properly, you should try to be sure that you wash it when it needs to be washed, and that you wash it correctly. Of course, realize that your straight down sleeping bag will lose a little of its loft each time period you wash it, so wash it sparingly.
A off sleeping bag is not like a set of underwear - you don't need to wash it after every use! But you may want to wash it at the finish of the summer or after a particularly long and stinky backpacking trip. To prevent being required to wash your sleeping travelling bag, keep it clean - use a liner or wear clean clothing to bed.
· Good news! You do not have to make a trip to the dry cleaners to wash your down sleeping case... of course, you ought to take a trip on the Laundromat. In fact, don't dry clean your carrier!
· The most crucial tip for washing your bag is to follow the manufacturer's instructions. This is true with both down sleeping bags and synthetic sleeping hand bags.
· It's best to wash your bag personally, but sometimes it is just so much easier to wash it in the machine! To wash it by hand, fill up a bathtub with warm water and a mild soap (a few examples are mentioned below). Allow it to soak for about 15 minutes, drain the tub, and press (don't wring) out the water in your bag. Wash it out the bag in chilly water, press out the water, and continue to to keep up this. If you do wash it inside machine, more tips follow:
· If you must clean up a few stains or spills : clean them up when they occur. There is not reason to position your bag through the strain of the machine if you do not need to. If you waited too long, be sure to pre-treat the stains before you load up the machine with your bag.
· Take time to go to a Laundromat to wash your bag - unless you happen to have a front-load machine at property! If you feel that the washing machine at property is large enough, be aware that washing your bag in it can cause wear on both your bag and unfortunately your machine...
· Zilch up your sleeping bag before washing it.
· Do not use your regular, nasty detergent. Rather, use some sort of mild soap like Woolite, Ivory Flakes, or Nikwax Off Wash.
